Angel

Angel is a wonderful dog I've had the pleasure of getting to know over the past couple years who belongs to a close friend of mine.  She's grown on me tremendously and I can see why my friend adores this companion as a parent would their child.  She's grown to be very special to me as well.  As a Christmas gift I decided to finally get around to painting her portrait.  There's no greater satisfaction than gifting a piece like this......I can tell you first hand it is loved......this is the reason I love portraits, be it animal or person.

Here are the pictures of the piece as it progressed.....and of course the final piece.  If you would like to commission your own portrait, please email me at logansmeadow@gmail.com

Hannah

My third commission for December has left my hands this morning.  Surely one of the most adorable of the three.....although I have to say they are ALL adorable kids.  Hannah though.......her eyes just grabbed me.  Her mom is an artist/photographer and surely this was of the three the one that had me the most careful to detail.  I'm attentive of each portrait or piece I create but when I know another artist is going to receive my work.....well let's just say I'm just that more careful of each stroke I make with my brush.    Here's the work as it progressed and the final piece itself of course.

Well......here I blog again.......

While it's been a very long time since I've last posted I have definitely not been idle.  With my adventures in the kitchen these past couple years and that way Life just takes over painting and drawing unfortunately tend to take a back seat.

Christmas is the time of year though I can count on a commission or two to keep me busy and get the creative juices flowing again.  This year was no exception, I got the immense pleasure to paint some wonderful portraits of some adorable children, two of three are complete now and a third almost there.....one final push to go.

Usually I do not post until all have left my hands but given Christmas has just passed 2 have left me and have been gifted.  I thought I'd share some pictures of the portraits as well as some shots of the pieces as they are being completed.  More pictures will follow of the third, along with another I have just completed as well in the coming week.

This one was a little tricky......so many adorable pictures separately however very few to choose from posed together.  Thankfully I was able to make this work using another picture without any trouble.  And to those who know me personally I assure you these are not my two adorable wee ones, however the resemblance really struck me as I painted.

By far one of the cutest little smiles I've ever painted.....nothing like a pair of baby cheeks and an unguarded smile coupled with adorable loving siblings to put a smile on your face.  This one was probably the most involving just trying to get their features perfect.

That's it for now.....more pictures to follow in the next couple days of the final two, stay tuned!
